Lisa's sick and she went to bed as soon as we got home last night, so I used the alone time to stay up until 3 am watching terrible movies and doing the project I've been wanting to do for a while--to build the Tumbler out of Lego.

I didn't actually use any pieces from my Batmobile set because that's the one set I've assembled since we moved. Everything else is still in pieces. Most of the black plating came from the TIE fighters, I think. The rear rubber tires come from one of my pull-back Racers sets. I didn't have rubber wheels that were quite big enough for the front, but there's only so much you can do.

It also has the new motor Lisa gave me for Christmas in it. (video) Between the new motor and the gearing I used, it goes somewhat faster than I do, and I have to chase it so it doesn't hit the end of its tether. For some reason the new engine has a six-inch cable connecting the motor to the control box--what good is that? Luckily the four-foot cable from my old motor still fits.

Lisa and I went to see a community Lego show on the weekend. She'd wanted me to enter something, but I don't really like to compete. I'd probably enter this, though.
